The annual Thorpe St Andrew Town Council St Georges Day event is held on the nearest Sunday to the day each year. The event, which takes place at the Fitzmaurice Park, features funfairs, donkey's and bouncy castles. There are also a number of charities, local businesses and food stalls with the Fat Cat and Tap providing the Bar.
The St George's arena often features Punch and Jude, The Black Knight re-enactment group, Morris Dancers and South Walsham Dog Obedience.
This free event is often described as a traditional British fete, which often benefits from glorious weather and is very well supported by local people and families alike.

On November 5th each year at the Fitzmaurice Park, Pound Lane the Town Council hold the annual Thorpe St Andrew fireworks display. This is the only Town council event where an admission fee is charged to support all our events throughout the year.
For the last two years the charge has been £3 Adult, £2 Child, under 2’s are free and a family of four are £10.Each year the event has grown more popular, with outstanding comments from visitors and residents alike.
The 2018 fireworks display is already being planned and the display is planned to be bigger and brighter than ever before. The events bring together a Bar stocking locally brewed beer and mulled cider, locally produced food on the catering stall and a large funfair for all the family. Craft and charity stalls are also a key feature of this event.
