Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (NTRO10278) affecting the A1270 Broadland Northway from its junction with A47 Slip Road to its junction with A1151 Wroxham Road Roundabout (“Road A”) and A1270 Broadland Northway from its junction with the A1551 Wroxham Road Roundabout to its junction with A140 Cromer Road/ Holt Road flyover (“Road B”) and A1270 Broadland Northway from its junction with A140 Cromer Road/ Holt Road flyover to its junction with A1067 Fakenham Road (“Road C”) in the Parishes  of Postwick with Witton, Great and Little Plumstead, Rackheath, Sprowston, Beeston St Andrew, Spixworth, Horsham St Faith, Horsford, Drayton, Taverham and Attebridge to facilitate gully cleaning, line refreshing and grass cutting works, the Roads A- C will be temporarily closed/restricted (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 17^th November to 5^th December 2025, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 16^th January 2026 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

NB: Please note that these works will be carried out in 3 phases. Road A will be closed between 20:00 and 05:00 from 17^th to 21^st November. Road B will be closed between 20:00 and 05:00 from 24^th to 28^th November. Road C will be closed between 20:00 and 05:00 from 1^st to 5^th December.

Alternative route is via: Road A: A1270 Broadland Northway, A1042 Yarmouth Road/ Ring Road/ Saint Williams Way/ Heartsease Lane/ Mousehold Lane, A1151 Wroxham Road.

Road B and C: A1151 Wroxham Road, A1042 Chartwell Road/ Mile Cross Lane/ Boundary Road, A1067 Drayton High Road/ Fakenham Road.

The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Norfolk County Council      

Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Roads A-C where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works/when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 16^th January 2026 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the restriction/closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.
